Static Corn is a minimal psytrance project that was active primarily between 1999 and 2007, created by an artist known as DEHN. The project is noted for its dark, groovy sound, and it gained some recognition in the psytrance community for its innovative tracks.
One of Static Corn’s notable contributions is the track “The Goblin vs Mr Tierney,” which was released on the 2006 compilation album The Lurker by Cosmic Conspiracy Records. This compilation features various artists and is known for its deep, moody vibes, catering to fans of the minimal and dark psytrance genres.
After a period of dormancy, Static Corn was revived in 2015, inspired by a live chill-out set DEHN performed at a festival in Sweden. The reboot brought a faster tempo to the project while maintaining its signature style.
In 2024, the project saw another revival, returning to its original roots with a renewed focus on the dark and groovy elements that defined its earlier work
