Only problem in that mix is the bass is too loud in the low mids. And there is no need for that loud of a top on it, I know its a huge part of the track. But they can come down a little since the rest of the mix is rather crowded in the low mids, but in a really good way. Your low mids/mids are really great mixed. So the bass feels a bit…Read More

Thanks Piv. Will take a look at that – I’d added some saturation to the bass to bring it to the fore, so probably overdid it in that area. Still want to do a fresh mix pass and not 100% sold on the clap / snare layer, but hopefully its heading in the right direction.

Agree the bass might be overwhelming the track a little but over all this is sounding great.
This progresses nicely over the track, I really like it.
The vocal in the drop with the acid 303 is slick

Agree with Piv on the low mids. I’ve been saturating bass for a whole to fill out that range, and found that using the same synth duplicated one octave higher does a better job. Vocal sounds a bit like Horace Andy, nice. I think a bit of call/response with the synths could help here to provide a bit more breathing room in the mix.

Cheers fellas, have made some updates here. Scooped out some of the bass around 200 – 200hz, changed the clap and made some arrangement and mix tweaks. Reckon its sounding quite a bit cleaner now, so pretty happy with it. A/B-ing this and the one above the mix is way more open and clean. Nicely done. Love that vocal! Maybe some harshness or clipping at the filter sweep at 1:38. Other than that, lovely.

Nice track and review. I would actually say 4:38 minutes is minimum for a Track, I would never release something shorter on My Techno Label. It’s not radio music 🙂

I often have 4 minute tracks, but often there are shorter ones. I don’t know how it happens, maybe because of the specific genre.

Nothing wrong with short tracks. But tracks that are for the floor and are to put you into some state of trance. Need more than todays short attention span. Techno & Psytrance under 6 minutes is what i consider lazy.

DEHN
Label Owner at Thorium Records
Behind the name, DEHN is Thorium Records label owner Michael Klit. He started playing some vinyl around 98-99, but he quickly began producing his music under the name Static Corn. In the summer of 99, he also began to make underground raves under the name of GerningsStedet. The parties were held, under parking lots, on abandoned farms, and old factory halls. He also played at the parties as DJ, where his style was minimal / pro-aggressive psytrance from the Danish underground scene. He later was a downbeat DJ at the venue Bryggen for several years.
Only true label I know of that releases all sorts of experimental music is WARP.
