I am looking into a proper AD/DA converter. I hear the UA Apollo is the way to go. I recently purchased the HEDDs Type 20s and now I am wondering if I should consider an upgrade to my audio interface as well.

I think the Apollo are to expensive for what you get, unless you want latency free preamp emulation and that stuff from UA. Then that is for sure the one to get.
Most of my friends who are serious about recording external gear are using RME, and I would also look into them before buying UA.

Has anyone in this group calibrated their reference monitors? What would be the best approach in doing this properly?

I am looking at the ARC Studio. I much preferred their software over Sonarworx. By a lot.
And now that they made a hardware interface for it. It’s almost a nobrainer, unless you are prepared to invest x10 money in it.

I have Sonarworx too, but refuse to use it right now due to the fact it is a plugin and not a permanent correction.

Exactly, it needs to be hardware. the ARC Studio gets pretty good reviews.
