Thanks for the feedback @staticcorn. Oddly enough, this was one of the few times I got to mix in a treated room, and on some Genelec 1032s! I think you’re right though. I wonder if saturation might do the trick… I’m going to rework the track, incorporating a few things I’ve learned since then.

Thanks a lot for the comments. @staticcorn When you say too much knock, in what frequency range, more or less? Since this version, I’ve put a Pro Q3 on it and boosted the lows and highs while attenuating the low mids. Then gainstaged it back to the original level. I think it sounds a bit tighter like that.

From what my ears tell me, I would have looked at the area around 200-240. But that is probably what you did if you say it got tighter π
But I’m also being picky, because as I said, the mix is really good

Everything is there. What I’m missing is some more punch and warmth to your subs. The mix feels a bit thin, and could use some more up in your face. Your 303 classic in the background can easily get a few more dB’s
But all in all its some more mixing needed to get those warm basstones floating π
