Here’s my offerings for the WTMO comp, both have alredy been posted here or in Mixitecture, but I think they’d both work and I don’t have anything else near completion at the mo. Midnight Oil is a Ninja Tune inluenced hip hop thing which I’ve already submiutted to Piv, and Abberations is more of my usual uptempo wonkty acid…Read More

Hey Ben, Love the atmosphere of Midnight Oil and those crunchy drums. Vocal sounds good too. Abberations – love that simple bass from the start! the punchy toms are cool. The drop is good, nice new elements there keeps it interesting. The last section after 5.08 is good, strips it down well for the outro. Great tracks.

Feel the power of the bass…… fuck me that hit hard hahahah.
Great track. A bit heavy on the bass. If you got a multiband, then try to put it on on the kick and only 0hz to 80-120hz and make it pull down really fast and release fast. then you can sometimes give the kick one more dB (dont think you need it here) Anyway, the point is you get tha…Read More

Thanks Piv i will have a play about with Kick Bass and try that the bass lines are quite dynamic as there is a sub and mid but these all kinda roll in the same bass line and when i made them up i sampled them off as this would make the arrangement of the bass much easier so they prob need some more attention to the Kick/Bass mix. i have been…Read More

Hi All Update to this track so bit better arrangements and few edits i also as Piv suggested looked at the Kick and used dynamic eq to pull down around 80-120hz i just swept to find a good sweetspot and this seemed to round the kick off better, also a bit of work on the basslines mixwise and a few changes in area’s i had originally made the basses…Read More

Sounds dope Tim, that bass is fierce! Love the old school rap samples and your treatment of them sounds really cool. Agree you could extend that outro, but equally that what the loop button is for
Side note just took a listen to some Architect Records stuff and this definitely feels like the same vibe to me. Good luck with it.
