Hi Guys! A new demo I’ve been working on. Progressive techno, 124bpm. C minor.
I’d love to hear any comments. 🙂

  Everything is there. What I’m missing is some more punch and warmth to your subs. The mix feels a bit thin, and could use some more up in your face. Your 303 classic in the background can easily get a few more dB’s
  
  But all in all its some more mixing needed to get those warm basstones floating 🙂

    Thanks for the feedback @staticcorn. Oddly enough, this was one of the few times I got to mix in a treated room, and on some Genelec 1032s! I think you’re right though. I wonder if saturation might do the trick… I’m going to rework the track, incorporating a few things I’ve learned since then.

      Well the 1032 do have a little much bass and are quite punchy, and many times treated rooms are more in the 200 and above, it’s hard to get control below, another thing is that the desk also makes a bump at around 120-160hz,
      
      Anyway looking forward to hear it with the new rework 🙂

  I agree with Piv, all the elements are there it just needs to be pushed a bit more now.
  
  I really like the sounds you’re using, especially that stuttery synth/pluck thing.
  
  The way the pad shifts around 1:35 is super cool.
  
  around 2:10 is ace, bringing in that kind of darker sounding synth.
  
  I think with a few tweaks this could be amazing. Great work!

  Not my type of music. But yeah I’m pretty sure it will work in the clubs. I feel like there is a bit to much knock on the kick. Besides that the mix feels really good.

  Thanks a lot for the comments. @staticcorn When you say too much knock, in what frequency range, more or less? Since this version, I’ve put a Pro Q3 on it and boosted the lows and highs while attenuating the low mids. Then gainstaged it back to the original level. I think it sounds a bit tighter like that.

    From what my ears tell me, I would have looked at the area around 200-240. But that is probably what you did if you say it got tighter 🙂
    
    But I’m also being picky, because as I said, the mix is really good

      No, but picky is great!! I really appreciate this kind of feedback. 🙂 When I put the Q3 on, the kick seemed more controlled. Also after listening in the car, I’m going to try the Pultec trick on the bass bus.

  Great track. Your kick needs some love, it is really boxy, and you should try and take out some harmonics so you have room for both the bass and kick in the mix.

  hey paul sounding good, good job you checked back liking the added acid group, when you can , get your racks over to Piv for mastering etc.. as they all being collected in the older.. nice work on this one m8 thanks buddy. Tm

  Like the vibe and the sample! 94 was serious partying time for me. Thought the bass could be more prominent, and there is a glithchy sound in the pad/synth element that starts at 3.15. That sound starting at 1.00 reminds me of old Nintendo games …

    Hi Paul thanks yeah those bleepy sounds I need to go back and really sort out as they are a bit all over the place and u right the bass needs work too this this is draft 1 the sample I had to use but I need to work this out better too maybe not all at the intro and use all in the break yeah 90s was great 🤣🤣 thanks for listening m8
