It’s been a while since we last sent out a personal newsletter from me – DEHN. So, here’s a brief update on what’s been happening since we launched our new community page.
Yesterday, we reached a significant milestone: 500,000 visits on our homepage in a year, with 175,000 occurring just within the last month.
Most of our traffic is directed to our News section, where you can find interviews, articles, and the latest free plugins we come across. Based on the time people spend on the news pages, we’ve observed that around 10% stay and read more than one article. These are promising numbers for such a small site.
Now, let’s talk about our community. As we mentioned when we launched, this space isn’t for everyone, and our old Discord users needed to adapt and understand that We Talk Music Online isn’t just another Discord platform or the new Twitch. It’s something unique. As expected, some of our old members have left, while new ones have joined. We wish those who departed good luck with their future endeavours in the music business.
We also extend a warm welcome to all the newcomers. A few have already received track feedback and are now exploring labels to release their music on. We’re incredibly proud to have helped them improve their production skills.
Our record label, WTMO-Records, is also up and running smoothly. Since its inception, we’ve had several releases that have made it to the charts. A huge thanks to all the artists who have supported us with their tracks. In the future, we plan to host remix contests for our tracks, allowing the public to get involved.
Our exclusive DJ mixes continue to air every week with our resident DJ, The Matt Schulz. Tune in every Monday at 16:00 CET for his Dub Techno Podcast – Sonic Explorations Of The Self, perfect for easing into your week. This week, we were also treated to a visit from FreakyMindControl during our Psytrance Thursday. He delivered an energetic psytrance set that left listeners wanting more. We’re excited to announce that this won’t be the last time he visit our radio.
Additionally, we’ve launched video streaming, allowing us to stream on our own page and simultaneously on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitch. While we could expand further, our current focus is on these three platforms. Furthermore, all streams, whether radio or video, are uploaded to our YouTube channel, which is gaining traction with thousands of hours of view time.
There’s so much more happening, and we invite you to join us on this adventure. We truly believe that together, the underground community can shape the future of music.
